Marie Alicata
To Say that "Music is my life" is an understatement.

I started semi-classical piano lessons at the age of nine.
At age 19 I studied voice under Ernie Martin in New York City.
My whole family was musically inclined, and therefore;
I became "part of the family." ...

My father, my brother, my cousin and I formed a band known as:
"Marie and  The Vagabonds" We enjoyed playing together for 15 years
in the New York City area ... During  that time we recorded an album
that was a huge hit with our many fans ...

I moved to South Florida 1n 1978 and my brother and I continued to
perform together ... We were known as "The New Yorkers."

In 1983 I embarked on my "solo" career ...
That was when I became known as "The Electric Lady" due to the
"State of the art" electronic equipment that not only allows me
to sound like a small combo but also when needed ...
Like an entire orchestra!

In 1986 I recorded a "Solo" album entitled "Moments with Marie"
The album included five of my original tunes and was produced by
Teddy Mulet from Gloria Estefan's "Miami Sound Machine."

Today, I still enjoy playing and singing in many different venues ...
In reference  to that, I think my resume from 1978 to the present
speaks for itself:

1978 - 1979: The Fountainblue Hotel, Miami Beach, FL
1979 - 1983: Carino's Restaurant, North Miami, FL
1983 - 1984: Le Club in Ft. Lauderdale and Mr. Cagney's also in Ft. Lauderdale
1984 - 1988: DiAnno's Restaurant & Lounge, Hallandale, FL
1988 - 1997: Villa Perrone Restaurant, Hallandale, FL
1997 - 1998: Conca D'Oro Restaurant, Hallandale, FL

Quote from "Around Town"  (Pat Mascola)
"....This lady has a ton of material and talent that gave her a long run at the famed Fountainbleau Hotel in Miami playing mostly private parties.  She also arranges, records......not only works as a 'one-woman-band' but has a duo and a trio as well.  She has recorded several CD albums............"
